The National Day Laborer Organizing Network (NDLON), founded in 2001, is an alliance of community-based organizations and worker centers dedicated to improving the lives of day laborers in the United States. NDLON works to unify and strengthen its member organizations in their efforts to develop leadership and to mobilize and organize day laborers to protect and expand their civil, labor, and human rights. Through its activities on behalf of undocumented workers, NDLON has emerged as a leading advocate for the reform of harsh immigration enforcement policies.
Unbound has supported NDLON since 2012. Funding has assisted NDLON with multiple initiatives addressing low-wage workers’ priorities in the immigration reform debate, limiting the involvement of local law enforcement agencies in enforcing immigration laws, helping immigrant-led organizations respond to state and local anti-immigrant measures, and using arts and culture tools to engage immigrants and other potential supporters.
