Congratulations to Becca Heller and Reverend Barber!

Congratulations to Becca Heller + Reverend Barber, winners of 2018 MacArthur Fellowship Awards!

Becca Heller is a creative, brilliant leader who is profoundly driven to help the world’s most vulnerable people. The International Refugee Assistance Project (IRAP), an Unbound grantee that Becca co-founded, is the first-ever effort to provide comprehensive individual legal representation to refugees as they navigate a complex resettlement system under U.S. and international law. It is now facing its toughest challenge yet: a global refugee crisis of historic proportions and U.S. refugee resettlement and asylum systems being systematically dismantled.

Reverend Dr. William J. Barber II is a prophetic voice in perilous times, a visionary leader of piercing insight and unfailing moral clarity. He is the President and Senior Lecturer of Repairers of the Breach and Co-Chair of the Poor People’s Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival, an Unbound grantee. With an unwavering determination to shed light on the circumstances of those among us who have the least hope and opportunity, Rev. Barber is galvanizing people of all ages and backgrounds to the cause of social justice.
