In addition to our central grantmaking function, Unbound staff provide an array of other supports to grantees: including capacity building; convening; fostering relationships between grantees through meetings, roundtables, and retreats; and supporting learning exchanges between the US and UK.
Examples of our work in the US include:
- Support to DREAMers, including capacity-building support to United We Dream; funding an organizational consultant for the Arizona Dream Act Coalition; and connecting the California Immigrant Youth Justice Alliance with other funders when the organization was being formed.
- Support to the Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) DACA collaborative. When the AAPI DACA application rate was very low during the program's first year, we hired a consultant to develop recommendations for improving outreach to AAPI communities and to engage other funders.
Examples of our work in the UK include:
- We have secured over 1,000 hours of legal pro-bono for our grant-holders.
